It is a crying shame what happened to her and her friend.  People need to stop talking about what wonderful basketball players the perpetrators are and about what wonderful basketball players the fathers were and start talking more about accountability.  Parent accountability, the perpetrators’ accountability, and the communities’ accountability (in this case it would be the Chicago Heights Police Department).&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;My father would have disowned my brother if he did something as violent, ruthless, and shameful as this.  Heck, we thought the world was coming to end when my brother stole a bike.  If my son did something like this I would do just like a lady did not too long ago.  Please with him to turn himself in.  If he didn’t, I would turn him myself.  My heart would be broken, but I would do it in a New York minute because there is no reason for it, especially when you consider how hard some parents work for their children.  I guess it all boils down to the values that kids are taught and how much the kids stick with those values.</description><dc:creator xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Bird</dc:creator><pubDate>Tue, 21 Oct 2008 17:02:00 -0000</pubDate></item></channel></rss>
